It's Operation Christmas Child Time! Boxes are going quickly. Pick yours up soon.
Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse, an international relief organization. Their mission is to provide local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ. The shoeboxes full of these simple gifts are shipped outside the United States to children affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine, and disease; and to children living on Native American reservations in the U.S. Walker will be collecting shoeboxes through November 18. Boxes are available through the church office, or you may still pack your own. You may also pack one online. Please let Chuck or Marie know if you choose the online method. Lots of ideas for packing the boxes and additional information can be found at www.https://www.samaritanspurse.org/what-we-do/operation-christmas-child/
Be sure to include $9/box for shipping and handling costs.
Walker's Goal is 100 postage paid boxes.
The Golden Offering for Tennessee Missions, the annual state missions offering that provides invaluable financial support for ministries that help reach Tennesseans for Christ, was collected throughout September. Walker's Goal was $1500. Hallelujah! We reached that goal early! Thank you to all who contributed and/or prayed for the missionaries and projects in Tennessee. The prayer guide is still available if you did not get a chance to use it.
As many of our neighbors have lost jobs or had their hours reduced, the need for food and other supplies is great. Graceworks needs our help. Most needed items include:
• Non-perishable foods such as: tuna, hearty meals (beef stew, chili, and ravioli), cereal, canned meat, mac and cheese.
• Baby Products: Diapers (sizes 3,4,5, and 6), baby formula
• Household & Hygiene Products: Toilet Paper, Laundry detergent, Shampoo, Deodorant
You may bring to church or deliver them directly to Graceworks.
• Financial Assistance: You may give through the church or donate directly to Graceworks.
Our church, led by the Pathfinders class, continues to support the residents and staff of My Friend's House through ongoing classes, meals, and special fundraisers. The quarantine has created a special need for additional food and snacks. If you wish to have a special part in this ministry please contact Jennifer Leonard or Vonda Hazelwood.
The church has an ongoing fund to help church members with unexpected expenses. If you wish to help with these, there is a category on the Giving Site labeled We Care We Share. You may also designate your gift through a direct donation to the church. Thank you for assisting with these needs.
